She Tech Hub Project

Engage Empower Educate Initiative a Non-Profit Organization in Abuja Nigeria Empower 10 Girls in Nigeria with Tech Skills Through the “She Tech Hub Project”

Engage Empower Educate Initiative, a non-governmental organization founded in 2018, is excited to announce the successful completion of its “She Tech Hub Project.” The project began in September 2022 with over 150 applications from girls across different communities in FCT Abuja and after a careful review, ten (10) girls from underserved communities were selected to begin their journey into the world of tech.

The girls were empowered with digital skills such as coding in languages like Python and JavaScript, mobile application development using frameworks like React Native, and IT skills like data analysis and web development. The goal of the project was to spark interest in ICT as a career path and position young women as promising and innovative leaders on the continent.

The project exposed these girls to valuable skills that will allow them to pursue new opportunities and become leaders in the field of technology.

At Engage Empower Educate Initiative, “We believe that by empowering women and girls in Africa with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the technology industry, we can help to promote peace, security, prosperity, and development on the continent.”

The organization plans to continue its work in the future and looks forward to training 100 more girls from underserved communities in Nigeria in the years to come.
