ENGAGE EMPOWER EDUCATE INITIATIVE EMPOWERS 15 GIRLS WITH TECH SKILLS

Once again, EEEI has proven her passion to empower girls and young women in what can be termed a huge milestone in achieving her goal.

On Friday 26th August 2022, EEEI empowered 15 young girls with four (4) months of free Mobile Application Development Training.
This grand event took place at the ‘SheTech Hub” in the presence of the selected girls, the Executive Director of EEEI Mr. Belema Kalada Meshack-Hart, members of staff, and the implementing partners Early Code Limited.
The SheTech project was launched on 22nd April 2022 during the celebration of the “the International Day of Girls in ICT” out of the urgent desire to promote digital literacy among girls and women. After which the organization in a bid to empower girls with sustainable skills embarked on the “Mobile Application Development Training” with a call for application.

With over 200 girls applying for this training, EEEI conducted a series of rigorous assessments until the final 15 were selected in a closely contested interview.
Engage Empower Educate Initiative (EEEI) will take the ladies on board as trainees, and the trainees will learn from a team of high-level professionals (Early Code Limited). The trainees will have the opportunity to be mentored and will be given useful resources that will help them develop in their roles. EEEI will later recommend and post the trainees for work placement in relevant industries.
The goal of this project is to;
To empower young women and girls with adequate digital skills and knowledge on the development of mobile applications, to enable them to innovate and drive sustainable technological solutions to the world’s most pressing problems and those in their communities.
To bridge the digital gender gap and empower women and girls with the resources required to participate equally in the information communication and technology sector.
To provide girls with the confidence and digital literacy required to become young promising innovative women on the continent.
The beneficiaries of this project stand to gain the skills to advance in their tech career and also an internship placement for a duration of six (6) months after four (4) months of intensive training.
Speaking at the induction of the trainees, the Executive Director, Mr Kalada Belema Meshack-Hart states the importance of the training in changing the economic tides of the ladies and ensuring they are globally competitive in the tech world, then improving the livelihood of their families.

Engage Empower Educate Initiative intends to train at least 1000 girls in the next year for free and develop a world-class Tech Hub for girls in Nigeria.
